This article is part of our What's Your Inspiration series, where we explore the personal touches and sources of inspiration our customers bring to their engagement rings.
Winter Wonderland prom themes, hot cocoa by an open fire, making snow angels with the one you love — we can definitely see the romantic side of winter. Even if you’re not a fan of the colder months, they make a great excuse for doing nothing but snuggling your beloved night after night. So let’s pull off our mittens and have a look at our favorite winter inspired engagement rings. The cold never bothered us, anyway!
We kick our list off with an incredible amount of sparkle coming from this diamond and platinum beauty — ice, ice, baby! (Did we just show our age?) The round diamond center stone is surrounded by a sunburst halo of diamond accents, magically turning it into the perfect snowflake. The twisting platinum band has a life of its own, with hardy thorns peeking out from under a soft dusting of diamond accents.
Our next engagement ring reminds us of snowy white mountains under clear blue skies — two things that brought this couple together. The marquise cut Swiss blue topaz center stone is matched with round and pear shaped opal accent clusters, bound together by a softly twisting yellow gold band. A majestic peak sits on the gallery as a hidden nod to the couple’s love of nature and mountains.
“She is his one in a million snowflake.” Excuse us while we melt! Our next engagement ring is inspired by the winter moon under which our lovers were born, and the joy of finding that one-of-a-kind love. The couple chose an ice-blue aquamarine center stone to represent a full moon. White gold snowflakes fall on either side and the diamond encrusted twisted band swirls like snow crystals in the wind.
Staring at this engagement ring is like gazing at a perfectly clear winter’s sky. Designing this ring, our next couple was looking for something unique that spoke of fantasy in nature. They found their perfect match in this mystical black opal center stone, which they paired with white opal accents. As a nod to Tolkien, the master of fantasy, aquamarine accents were used to embellish the flowy, twisted white gold band.
Our next husband-to-be came to us with a vision of an engagement ring that looked like it was made of snowflakes. To bring his wintry concept to life, we put a unique twist (literally) on his chosen Asscher cut diamond with a kite setting. Dainty diamond-centered snowflakes sit either side of the stone, with more falling around the band of the ring. The offset yellow gold band flows wildly, barely touching the top and bottom corners of the center diamond, giving the illusion of flurrying snow in a winter storm.
Our next winter inspired ring speaks to us of love so strong it survives even the harshest winters. The vibrant blue of the sapphire center stone pops against the perfect white of the pearl side stones. We can’t help but think of bright blue wild flowers poking their heads out of the snow at the first hint of warmth. A garland of tiny white gold flowers sits around the top of the pear cut center stone, with the swirly band adding a touch of natural movement.
Our final entry in this frosty list is an engagement ring fit for a spellbinding snow queen (you know where this is going…) or just a special lady who loves the snow! The mesmerizing alexandrite center stone is surrounded by a shimmering halo of moissanite accents that breathe life into the icy heart of the blue-green center stone. The perfect picture of winter magic! So, do you want to build a snowman?
