OK, now we're talking full-blown home offices, usually providing work surfaces in an “L” configuration to maximize working space. The concept is similar to that described in Desks, just on a larger scale. From an aesthetic standpoint we've found it attractive to make the work surfaces of, say maple hardwood, framed with cherry or walnut. We've always used solid hardwood for work surfaces because 1) the grain structures look lovely, and 2) plywood would not stand up to the abuse work surface tend to receive.
