This is what we like to call a multi-media fireplace. The maple cabinets were installed in alcoves either side of the fireplace, the over mantle and side columns cover up the massive brest of the brick chimney. Marble will be laid to surround the firebox and for the hearth. A considerable number of A/V cables and wiring runs in a channel behind the panels in back of the flatscreen to the base cabinet on the left, where the components can be accessed with a full extension pull-out. The entire piece was finished natural with 3 coats of clear lacquer.
